ABOUT
THE WAY OF THE WARRIOR

IN ORDER TO BE READY FOR BATTLE, YOU MUST FIRST KNOW PEACE.

Our world often thinks of a warrior as someone who dominates with external strength, maybe even at the expense of another. But the true warrior is on a far greater quest—to realign the human soul from anxiety to peace, from pain to power. The warrior enters the arena not from greed or for gain, but rather to slay the artificial life to pursue a life of artful intention.

Victory isn't based on luck or talent, but on the transformative inner journey of the warrior. The truth is, every war ever waged was first lost in the human heart.

In this provocative, powerful book, Erwin Raphael McManus provides a revolutionary blueprint for living at our highest capacity through the inward pursuit of peace. Through the ancient biblical practices of humility, focus, ownership, clarity, strength, and vulnerability, he guides you to recover, or maybe encounter for the first time, true inner peace.

The battle is fierce—it rages around us but also inside us. Sometimes the greatest enemies, the greatest challenges we face are within. By following the code of the warrior, freedom awaits, along with your most powerful future.

“From the first page, this book has been exactly what I needed to read in the season of life that I am in. I found it both challenging and encouraging, especially the final code item "The Warrior Stands in their Pain."

CHERI K.

“There is a lot to think about in this book and if you’re looking for a book to read and stick on the shelf, this isn’t it. Eight codes make up the content, from fighting for peace to gaining mastery over your mind, standing in pain. Particularly poignant is his section on failure—must reading for everyone.”

“I could re-read this again and again. This book is clear on the battles we face in living life and how they breed a higher purpose. It is a reminder,we can't run from pain but can go God and our own credit, run to it.”

JOANNE G.

“This is perhaps one of the finest books I have read on mastering oneself. Erwin McMannus gives a great guide in to learning the principals and the way of the Warrior. In this current world of chaos, this book teaches that the peace the soul longs for is the peace the world needs. Peace begins with us but first we must master ourselves. Relinquishing control, fighting those battles that are truly ours to fight, knowing how to tell the difference.”

  • "Peace comes when you stop trying to control the world around you and instead take responsibility for the world within you."

  • “To blame others is an act of cowardice. We blame in an attempt to hide our shame. This is not the way of the warrior. The warrior understands that to blame is not simply an abdication of responsibility but a relinquishing of power. You cannot change what you do not take responsibility for.”

  • “We will never know peace if we lose the present because we are trapped in the past and paralyzed by the future.”

  • “Ownership is not about possession; it is about responsibility. What you own matters far less than what you take ownership for. What you take responsibility for is far more important than what you think you own.”

  • “You cannot win the battle for your soul if you choose to live the life of a fool, neglecting the health of your soul and not taking time to refine who you are.”

THE WAY OF THE WARRIOR CHAPTERS

  • The warrior is not ready for battle until they have come to know peace. We are a people of war because we are a people at war. The only path toward world peace is inner peace.

  • The greatest enemies of peace within are worry and fear. Worry steals our joy, and fear steals our freedom. When we find peace, we are made whole. When our hearts have not found peace, we become filled with the darkest expressions of ourselves.

  • The weapon of the warrior is their wisdom and wisdom is the abilityto bring peace. The warrior wields a weapon only to defend, protect, and liberate. In the end, we become what we love. If you want to stop being a fool, stop loving the wrong things. The weapon you face the world with is not what you have, it’s who you are. If wisdom is the weapon, your character is the edge.

  • A life of service does not diminish the pursuit of greatness. Greatness is not the absence of humility, it is the absence of apathy. Jesus did not come to diminish the greatness in others; He came to awaken it.

  • The warrior cannot know their enemy if they do not know themselves. Every battle that you will ever face in the outside world must first be won in your inner world.

  • Honor is not found in victory, it’s found in the nobility of the battle. Failure and defeat are not the same. The warrior owns defeat and therefore defeat never owns them.

  • Even when they are weak, the warrior knows their true strength. The soul is a fire that must be fed to burn brightly, and the warrior always fuels the fire of their soul. The warrior finds their greatest strength when they love to live and live to love.

  • The way of the warrior moves you into the path of interconnection. Human brokenness is a result of a break between us and god. The uniierse was not created for god, it was created for us. Creation is proof of our creator, and we were not created to live alone.

  • A warrior’s scars carry a beauty only sacrifice can create. The one who has no wounds has fought no battle. Peace will only come from choosing to face your greatest battles and every battle is first fought within. The warrior bears the wounds of others and the world.

SOMETIMES YOUR GREATEST CHALLENGES ARE WITHIN.
