Uprising

Uprising

This book is dangerous!

It is only for those who are ready to join an uprising - a revolution of the soul that will change an ordinary life into an extraordinary one. It is only for those who want something more out of life, who desire to tap into the divine potential that was placed in them at their creation.

You were in God’s imagination before you were ever born. All the talent, gifting, and creativity you possess was placed in you by God Himself. Can you imagine the things you could do, the impact you could have on the world, if you tapped into the dreams God has for your life?

In Uprising: A Revolution of the Soul, Erwin Raphael McManus boldly invites you to join the revolution. He illuminates the desperate heart cry of every human being - “I want to live!” - and then serves as a guide on a quest to answer that cry.

Find your true purpose and destiny in the pursuit of the passion and character of God. Be a part of a revolution that changes a life of imitation and mediocrity into one of passion and character . . . a radical revolt that will forever change the world!

“It’s rare to meet anyone with a passion for anything,” someone once said.

Passion is indeed a rare commodity in our culture, often considered a “luxury for the young.” But a life of passion and purpose is the cry of every human heart.

In this daring book Erwin Raphael McManus points the way to a life overflowing with passion, freedom, destiny, and human creativity-a search for the character and person of God.

Uprising: A Revolution of the Soul provides a unique perspective on a pursuit as old as time itself: the quest to become fully alive. Filled with profound truths, yet presented in a fresh, conversational style, this book will challenge you to attain new depths of spiritual freedom and reach your fullest potential as a human being.

“The character of God, the beauty of His personhood, the expression of His goodness, — these are God’s traits that He longs to share with us. What would the world look like - what would we look like - if we became like Him? This is the ultimate destination”, writes Erwin, “to become the person God dreams of and to share those dreams with others.”

    Great book!

I’m interesting in finding out whether there are any chapters of “Rock Eaters Anonymous” out there. I’ll go in to a meeting and say, “Hi, my name is Allen, and I eat rocks.”

And everyone there will supportively say, “Hi, Allen.”

And I’d go on to share my story of eating rocks instead of waiting for the pure food God is waiting to provide me! And they’d all tell their stories, and we’d encourage each other in patiently waiting on God’s wonderful provision for us…

    Or am I just dreaming?

(For those who don’t get this, it’s a personal response to what Uprising discussed about Christ’s time of temptation in the desert…great imagery in my life!

  7. a gravatar Flag Sarah Leonard Says:

Yesica, be careful who you look up to. Erwin is just like you and me. If he has anything extraordinary to say, it’s from God. Sounds like you’ve got Erwin on a bit of a pedastool. No matter how cool his books are, he doesn’t belong there. We are all the same. Putting him up there only gives him farther to fall and more chance for you to be dissapointed and frustrated.
    Take care.

So … why do I find myself still waiting … still walking the fence, knowing the side I must fall to, righteously … still, after fear is revealed, and hope given … still … I linger on that fence … not stultified … just uncertain … do I remain waiting for an opportunity of my choosing? or His? I wish to leap … but to where? … and apart from His purpose, to what end? If Jesus is my Lord, why do I wait?

This book is so touching. YOu get to really see yourself in this book. And how it sees things in a way that you can apply things in your life. This book doesnt appart from reality this book is how our journey is and how God sees us, how to use our potential for God and our creativity, how to be fulfilled in God and being more like Him going in this journey.

I bought this book at the Promise Keepers convention about 2 yrs. ago. I was really impressed by hearing you speak there and I really enjoyed reading the book. A lot has happened to me since then. I recently picked the book up and decided to read it again, and it ministered to me in a totaly different way. Thank You For writing this book , and I look forward to buying and reading some of your new books.

This book completely changed how I feel about God and the church… I am now searching for a Barbaric Church but aparently we are short of those in the Bible Belt. If there are any in southeast Georgia I’d like to know. If not, there will be soon.

  16. a gravatar Flag Gina Says:

So Joey…go create waves…rock the status quo and be passionate about God.
Someone needs to rattle the Bible Belt.
Been there, seen that, I didn’t realize why I was dissatisfied there until I read “the Barbarian Way”…now it all makes sense.

Radical changes call for radical faith and radical committment.

I’m currently working through the workbook for this one. Man is it amazing! It really challenges me to be honest with my assessment of myself. This book echoes the heart cry of my generation and many like me. “I WANT TO LIVE!” We all want something bigget than us, a challenge, something that is worth the risk…not just to die for, but to put our whole life into and live for as well! Keep up the great work , Erwin!

Was reading Uprising and had to set it down after your comment about car salesman.
Obviously, you’ve got a promlem with car salesmen.

That car salesman’s wife may have really had a red vehicle. Don’t assume that all car salesman talk “sales talk.”

I am a Christian that happens to be a car salesman. I genuinely look for things in common when talking to customers. I love your books and they seem from the heart, but don’t come down hard on all salesmen.

I lead a small group in a church in Virginia. We all agreed to get the book and the workbook for Uprising and as a group just having a hard time with it. Not because the book is bad, but because how the Holy Spirit has been convicting us through the words written in the book. We love it, but not sure exactly why but have some idea why. We have been deeply challenged by Uprising and I personally sense that the words McManus wrote in these pages came straight from the heart of God. Thank you for yielding to the Holy Spirit and be available for God to write the Uprising book. God bless you on your journey to be more like God…since we are after all made in HIS image.

I just finished watching Erwin on television with James and Betty Robinson. I was so taken wtih what he was saying, I mean this man is talking Kingdom not Christianity. This my very first time seeing or hearing his voice and he is listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit.I will be reading his works. Keep up the great mandate…it’s really about serving and being kingdom royalties.

    HI,
I heard “The Barbirian Way” and used it as part of my teaching “Share Jesus Without Fear” at Ford Headquarters (Primier Automotive Group) in Irvine CA. I have a amall group with four non-believers and want to use some of Erwin’s teaching to allow the Holy Spirit to inspire them to accept Jesus and to become deciples of Jesus. Can you recommend a series i.e. a focus on Jesus for our group to study. FYI, our group has been through Rick Warren’s “Purpose Driven Life”, but the four still haven’t accepted Jesus.

    Yours in Christ,
