Stand Against The Wind
Even though steroid use is illegal in professional sports, nevertheless here it is - Uprising on steroids. Stand Against the Wind is the abstractions of the strongest truths and insights from Uprising.
You know it all too well: life is fraught with challenging moments. When the storms of life blow- as they most certainly will- are you going to stand strong, bend, or break? Discover how to rise above the normal reaction and learn to stand against the wind.
Through thought-provoking chapters, McManus takes readers on a journey of transformation through the landscape of their character- from where they start out “Running Free,”; through “Rising Out of the Ashes,” developing “Divine Imagination,” and finally, reaching the “Greatness of Servanthood.”

Hi from P.E.I,
Thank-you so much for all your writing and speaking. I love your style and passion. My wife and I and our family have had a difficult year and have lost some friends and have had to leave our church. It is a long story but your messages particularly “Beyond the Ordinary” have been extremely encouraging. We now have a new church and are very excited about it as it is a very active church. I am looking forward to what God is laying on your heart in the coming days. Thanks again for instilling new faith, hope, and love within us. Bye for now,
Your Friend in Christ, David

If this book grabs me, challenges me, drives me near as much as Barbarian Way….. I won’t know what to do with myself. God is using Erwin in an amazing way to recapture the heart of God in the local church.

The very first thing that struck me about Erwin McManus’ writing is that his words, much like those of the Lord he serves, leave no place for the reader to hide. When I first started reading his books and hearing him speak several years ago, I realized that the mirror of faith he presented was something I could not escape. It called me to examine my own life and commitments, and it called me to change. God has used Erwin McManus to initiate transformational change in the lives of many, and has pointed the Church in the direction it must go. Given Uprising’s impact, one can only get excited about a book that claims to be “Uprising on steroids.”

I listen to Mosaic all the time through your podcasting on Itunes. Thank you for that! Today on Amazon I just bought “Chasing Daylight” and “Standing Against the Wind.” I enjoyed what you said on 1/8/06 about how Jesus was always is passionate after sinners. When I put that into the context of my own life I am blown away. I have uprising and can’t wait to read the two new books. Party Theology was awesome and from 1/8/06 how you’re a cynic who believes. Keep the faith.

I’ve read all Erwin’s books so far. As a church board we are going through Unstoppable Force chapter by chapter. I’m looking forward to getting my hands on his newest book!

I picked up the book today at Family Christian Bookstore, I thought it didn’t come out til Feb. 14th but I got it and read it today. Short and easy read. God has used Erwin McManus’s books to pour into my life. And, Stand Against the Wind is just the latest that has done so. Great book and it is very insightful.

I recieved my copy of Stand Against the Wind today. Erwin has done it again. A modern day John the Baptist. I have read everything he writes and it has changed my thinking about the normal christian life. God has gifted him with a voice crying in the wilderness. Praise God for what he is doing.

Erwin is the man .. if he were a woman I would marry him!, lol … j/k .. his books are amazing revealing the ugly head of the western theology and showing us what Jesus really had in mind for us to become… not some passive people that are just going to sit around in our churches and pray but to be people who are committed to spiritual activism motivated by the love of God! The call of Christ is barbaric and uncivilized we need to take this message to the churches and have it preached! Thanks! Keep it up!

I know the Holy Spirit was working through Pastor McManus when he wrote this book. It is truly a stunning book. Every family in the world should own this book. I ordered 15 copies to give to people as the Lord convicts me. It should be required reading in High Schools. PTL! May the world awaken to the power of our Lord Jesus Christ and his never ending life changing Love!

“The Barbarian Way” has changed my life. This book brought visions, passions, and convictions together to create a clear picture of the ministry that I was called to years ago. I now have a solid foundation to build on. I attend the Mosaic Church of Chattanooga and lives are being changed. Breath in deeper. Take it in. Get ready to go.

As Christians we are called to be set apart from the rest of the world. We are called to die daily and lay aside our desires of this world and ask God to create in us a new heart. Our God desires for us to be passionate about him, for us to pursue Him with our heart, soul and mind.
The message that Erwin speaks about is the truth of the cross and the message of carring our cross. Even when we are tired and the cross is heavy we need to persevere and fight for the name of Christ and look to Him in our weakness.
I praise God that Christ has instilled a passion within Erwin to proclaim the supremacy of Christ in all nations and for thinking outside of the box and not neglecting the essentials. THANK YOU ERWIN!!!

Pastor Erwin,
I am overwhelmingly blessed by your book Chasing Daylight…my eyes and mind has been awakened that time here on earth is quite short and that every opportunity matters..truly an encouraging message, full of wisdom and you are right unless you try it (like Jonathan… “whether by many or few”) you won’t know what God’s amazing plan is (no more waiting for perfect opportunity)..Praise our Mighty God.
Blessings to you and your family.
-vince.
